Sleeping under the stars in Halong Bay – Story of a cruise captain

I work and live on a cruise ship. Eventually we will have days when we don’t have any guests and have to stay on anchor at the local Bai Chay harbor. Since we have to save fuel from the generators we turn of the electricity and water during afternoons and evenings. We are usually forced by nature to sleep under the open skies which in Halong Bay can be quite rewarding.

Tai Chi

Tai Chi is something you can only do during a Halong Bay overnight cruise trip. This is an outstanding gem of traditional Chinese culture that is valuable in promoting health, developing combat, self-defense skill, and improving concentration and overall well-being. Because of the similarities between Tai Chi principles and the harmony of earth, rock & water in Halong Bay, many Halong Bay cruises add Tai Chi in their itinerary to make Halong Bay trip more useful for their guests’ health.

Cooking class

Culinary discovery is one of the most interesting things while exploring a destination, especially when the destination is Vietnam, a country with diverse, easy to eat and very balanced-nutrition cuisine. Don’t just try famous dishes in local restaurants. To understand Vietnam cuisine deeply, please join a cooking class. Vietnamese cooking class is really easy to find and join, once you visit Halong Bay.
